See-Thru my eyes

I have a very small TV that I hardly use, the truth is: I hate watching TV. I'm a cheap'o so I don't pay for any premium channels. I've never had HBO (Sex and the City became available to me when channel 11 started showing it at 10pm every night), Cinemax, or even Netflix. I miss all the fun series and I'm always left out of any pop culture related conversations. For me Breaking Bad is just a term for a severe heart ache and The Sopranos are still Pavarotti, José Carreras and Plácido Domingo -oh wait, they were The Tenors, oh well, close enough. Yet, last night as consequence of extreme boredom I turned on the TV. I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary, you know the usual: a politician here and there getting caught smoking weed (O.M.G!), Miley's scandals (I love her), and a whole fifteen minutes section on an entertainment show about see thru dresses. Wait, what? Seriously? Finally my see thru black dress isn't going to the "most vulgar in town" list? Oh Gwyneth, you rock!
CoCo took these pictures of me some weeks ago when the weather was decent and I was still living in Jersey City (I recently moved to Philadelphia, the city of brotherly love (uhum)....more about that on a later post) and they seemed perfect for the occasion. The occasion being "Go commando or die". I chose a slightly less provocative -and less comfortable- approach (I wouldn't scare you with a commando picture of my butt. Cellulite and I have been frenemies for years).
Hope you are all doing fine, please don't watch too much TV, call your mom instead, or call me what the heck, I never answer the phone (I hate phones too) but I promise I'll meet you for coffee, or even better wine.
Love you all!
Besos,
G

Family Portrait

Among feeding the cats, watering the plants, pseudo-meditating (try to meditate with two cats wondering "how come you are not moving" ) and drinking freshly made banana smoothie, I dedicate a good chunk of my morning routine to spy on other people's lives via Facebook and Instagram.  I've been feeling slightly tormented (not really) lately with the realization that my life is not -for lack of a better word- normal.

According to the "master plan" (a plan created by who knows who where we all have to act properly and be nice and have many kids and over populate the world and have a nice house with a labrador and a white picket fence) and Facebook I've reached the age where I'm supposed to be raising a family of three while having a full time job, keeping a beautiful figure and mastering exceptional cooking skills.....sure! Somehow my master plan probably got lost in translation and instead of raising human babies I'm sharing my life with two hairy beasts of the feline type, my figure is somehow acceptable and my cooking skills are limited to cereal with milk and grilled cheese sandwiches. I am a disgrace to the master plan.

So what shall a girl like me -with a not so ordinary life- do when panic strikes (nah!) and the unavoidable thought of failure to society dominates one's head? Call CoCo of course for a family portrait session with my adopted four legged offsprings! (My loser level just went up a notch).

Happy Tuesday everyone, I wish you all lots of love and blessings!

SoHo-Ho

In latitudes where seasons are as intense as New York's, the weather becomes a daily topic of conversation. If you are forced to speak to someone in an elevator the first thing you say is: "How do you like this weather?" (assuming that day is one of the 30 really nice days out of the entire year), or "Isn't it miserable outside?" (and this applies to pretty much the 335 remaining days of the year). You don't ever leave your house without checking the weather (or without your cell phone, can someone remind me again how the heck did we function years ago without that extra limb called the cell phone?) because in this area of the globe Mr Temperature suffers a severe case of maniac depression. One minute you are freezing, and all of a sudden you feel like you are being cooked into a perfect medium rare term. When Mother Nature along with Mr. Temperature, God, Helios and probably the Planets are in a good mood, they reward us with the beautiful gift of a perfect day. These very few days cannot be wasted indoors under any circumstance, specially when one of your best friends calls you to meet in SoHo for a photo shoot for her website.
"Taunt by passers with your camera? sure! I'll see you there!"

Have a great week everyone :)

Must have accessory of the season: a gorgeous sweetie pie dressed in pink tutu and silver shoes.
Extra points if her dress matches your hair highlights.

Customized I LoveNewYork Tshirt stolen from your friend (you don't want it back do you?)
Vintage skirt, Miu Miu shoes that I'm planning to milk forever :)
